SLDC Hosting Public Open House on February 1 for St. Louis City Residents Interested in the 20th Street Mobility Improvements Project between Market Street and St. Louis Avenue

St. Louis, Mo. (January 11, 2023)St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) is hosting a public Open House on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Polish Heritage Center (1413 N. 20thStreet, St. Louis, MO 63106). The location is along the project corridor just south of Cass Avenue. This event spotlights the 20th Street Mobility Improvements Project, approximately 1.6 miles of planned roadway and corridor improvements from Market Street to St. Louis Avenue and includes adding a separated bicycle path that is part of the Brickline Greenway. The meeting will be an open house format. Come speak with team members about the project details, provide feedback and stay as long as you wish. Maps and other information will be on display.  There will be activities for children. No formal presentation will be given.

The new 60-foot wide corridor will provide a safer and more attractive experience for walkers, bicyclists, transit riders, vehicular drivers and property owners. The project upgrades the poor roadway condition and its pavement markings, sidewalk, signals, lighting, signing and street trees, while creating an accessible corridor for all users.

The project has $5 million in federal funds committed for construction.

This project supports the Project Connect Action Plan. Documents and more information will be made available at https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/sldc/project-connect/20th-street/

The public comment period closes February 23, 2023.
